image of the week ..released from the dark into the fog...

I ve been locked away in the shade for days now and feeling depressed ...I finally escaped for a stroll today only to feel hugely disappointed. The hills and people failed to match my demands for adventure and I found myself absolutely unable to shoot. Fumbling with my camera , struggling to find a straight horizon and shuddering after pressing the shutter for another regrettable frame.... forget today..practice..practice...

This is from the Hackney strolls.. shooting on polaroid is really making me want to relax in my approach, experiment further and create a painterly feel.

The shoot with Ashley was an absolute joy, but the pure documentary approach and considered portraiture has limitations as it is incredibly intimate.

The images from walks have the ability to form observations mixed with creativity. This image of Jane is my favourite as it fuses together the beauty of polaroid and the technique of portraiture I enjoy so much. Shooting with creativity, time and consideration but with unpredictable tools.
