Image of the week... and off to Arles I go...

There are some people I see and instantly want to photograph... enter Tony...

It would be no exaggeration to say that I stepped back into 1933 when one of the ybn trips I organised last weekend was at a site with no electricity and that had clearly held it's charm and remained unspoilt by any modern conversions. As my wagon jolted over the various bumps and off road ditches I halted to find two men on a tractor one of whom shouted " Aye, ya must be Laura...".. The hypnotic green eyes of our host begged me to request a portrait later in the weekend.

The visits have taken me to Manchester, Cambridge and various other UK spots and it is interesting to experience the difference in the clubs. Some are simple and charming and the small network provides a loving community and others are more equipped and provide spa like facilities for an indulgent guest.

Back at Pheonix after my four hour mission we arrived at a quaintly kept pavillion with a beautifully laid table, adorning ham and cheese sandwiches cut into triangles and home made triffle. The contrasting generations mixed effortlessly and we talked until early hours...

I am now off to Arles (some of which I may find myself homeless and broke) but the festival calls as does the adventure.. I'm looking forward to gaining some inspiration, drinking some french wine and spending time with some great friends...au revoir for now.. x
