folkstone journey

For a few months the 'journeys' (working title solefy for filofax purposes) project has taken me to an eray of destinations in and around the outskirts of London.I'm particualry focussing my efforts on seaside towns and within the area of Kent. Running away from the smoke encourages sanity and allows me to head back to the roots of street photography. These seaside destinations are a far cry from what they used to be. I imagine that some viewers will be shocked by what used to be their weekend break destination as a child. It is interetsing to see how the pide and portrayal of our seaside towns that so sominantly represented English tourism has quietly diminished. I may not end up with the best images but spending time strolling about with a camera around my neck hunting for inspiration can remind me why live and breathe this art....rule one : film only, no digital....

(ps this one is Ruslip of all places.)
