Image of the week...Little bit of canvey fun..

LITTLEHAMPTON AND CANVEY ISLAND... A new edition to my rule book is to avoid hitting the same location without a 3 month break. In despair I ventured to my beloved canvey island where I awaited the promise of chavs on stilts and dramatic weather conditions..instead i was greeted by empty and familiar scenes that failed to spark my imagination.. as I'm sure common sense should have predicted a discovery is less impressive the second time round. However finding interest and inspiration when the feeling of disappointment conjurs is even more of a challenge and therefore more testing to the imagination. I roamed canveys nooks and craneys and rediscovered a few hidden trademarks and locals.

Next stop - littlehampton... drawn to this town under promise of :

"the air of neglect, depression borderline psychosis, local happyslappers and martin parr rejects standing in the rain in aged funfairs."

how could this post by a visitor not tempt me..indeed it was a treat and despite my little wagon falling at the seams and imitating a hairdryer when you push it to 70, I managed to zip down there from London in a mere hour and a half...one of the many thrills of the journeys is the anticipation. The beauty of a lonesome drive spurs the imagination to lust after discovering a forgotten land with secrets to share before it changes forever...

It was a treat..not quite a Clacton on Sea but worth a ponder.. I plan to head up north soon as it seems to house a few on a wish list... I am definitely looking forward to re visiting in the winter and seeing these places in, I predict, a more vulnerable and neglected light, housed only by residents, only time shall tell...
